About us

Supporting Children, Strengthening Bonds

At Kaleidoscope Care Children's Home, we believe that every child deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and truly at home. Our mission is simple: to provide a nurturing environment where siblings can stay together, heal from past experiences, and build a future filled with hope. Through compassionate care, therapeutic support, and a family-like setting, we empower young hearts to grow, thrive, and believe in a brighter tomorrow.

Our story

Keeping Families Together,
Building Brighter Futures

Kaleidoscope Care Children's Home was founded on the principle that no child should have to endure the pain of being separated from their siblings. Recognising the emotional toll that family separation can have, we created a home where brothers and sisters can stay together in a safe, caring, and structured environment.

Located just outside Edinburgh, our home offers more than just a place to live—it provides stability, therapeutic support, and opportunities for growth. We are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of every child, offering personalised care programmes that focus on emotional well-being, education, and personal development.

Led by our founder, Rod Grant, whose 35 years in education have shaped his deep commitment to children’s welfare, our team of trained professionals work tirelessly to provide a home that fosters security, love, and opportunity. Whether it’s through therapy, education, or simply offering a listening ear, we ensure that every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

Every child deserves a home where they feel safe, loved, and supported. At Kaleidoscope Care, we are more than just a care home—we are a family.
Rod Grant, Founder & Director

Kaleidoscope Care is built on the understanding that stability and connection are essential for healing. By preserving sibling bonds and offering personalised care, we provide children with not only a safe place to live but also the sense of belonging and continuity that every child deserves.

Our commitment extends beyond meeting basic needs; we focus on nurturing each child’s potential, helping them grow through meaningful experiences, therapeutic care, and opportunities to succeed in both education and life. At Kaleidoscope Care, every moment is an opportunity to build brighter, more hopeful futures.
